40 Year Veteran Teacher is Recognized by The Ohio Lottery
Cleveland... Sharlene Hopkins has dedicated herself to St. Patrick School, located in Cleveland, Ohio, for 40 years. Hopkins is a 7-8 grade Social Studies and Art teacher. She is described as “an asset not only in her classroom but throughout the school’s community.” “She goes above and beyond the call of duty because she truly cares,” says Principal Mrs. Annemarie Rajnicek.
It is not surprising for Hopkins to have a visit from a past student, she certainly has impacted many students in 40 years. Hopkins has developed a “Young Lawyer’s Club” in which she helps students understand the legal system and its process. She also helps out with homework in the aftercare program. She is does “extraordinary” things to contribute to the school.
It is not surprising that Hopkins was recently honored by The Ohio Lottery as this month’s Teacher of the Month. She represents the Cleveland area as a recipient of the award. For being recognized as Teacher of the Month, Hopkins will receive four tickets to the Indians’ game, recognition at the event, merchandise from the team, and Partners in Education merchandise from The Ohio Lottery.
The Ohio Lottery will continue to recognize Academic All Stars and Teachers of The Month throughout the school year.
